Mrs. Ruth A. Knox, age 48, a former resident of this community, died Friday, May 1, at Edwardsville, Ill., after an illness of six years. Mrs. Knox was born May 25, 1915, at Attica, the daughter of Thomas and Bonnie Cheak Powell. She was married Oct. 17, 1936, to Albert Knox, who survives. She was a member of the Hoopeston Methodist Church. Survivors also include two sons, Thomas of Washington, D.C., and Richard of Champaign, Ill.; her parents of Williamsport; and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Tate of Williamsport. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Williamsport Methodist Church. Burial, with the Crowmer-Siddens Funeral Home in charge, was in Highland Cemetery. -- typed by Barbara B -
